Below are a good examples of what can be helped when you soak in a Nordic Hot Tub.  Our spas have whirlpool jets AND massage jets giving you whole body relief - not just where you sit.

Hydrotherapy, or warm water therapy in hot tub spas, consists of three main healing ingredients; heat, buoyancy, and massage. Together, they create an experience that is both relaxing and healthy. Hot tub hydrotherapy on a regular basis provides physical health benefits that go much deeper than just relaxation and pleasure. Water is so pure and simple, yet it can do the most amazing things. Whether you are experiencing joint or muscle pain, having trouble sleeping, or are just plain stressed out, spending time in hot tub spas can provide therapeutic benefits for just about everyone.

Stress, headaches and sleep

Warm water massage stimulates the body to release endorphins that reduce stress naturally. In addition to stress reduction, a hot tub’s hydrotherapy jets also dilate blood vessels to help prevent headaches. Also, when it comes to falling asleep faster and getting a good night's sleep, the National Sleep Foundation clearly stated, "soaking in hot water, such as a hot tub or bath, before retiring to bed can ease the transition into a deeper sleep." 1

Muscles and joints

The Hydrotherapy use of hot tub spas by athletes has skyrocketed. Tennis Magazine said it best: “Your skin and muscles loosen and relax from the increased blood circulation” adding that, if muscles are injured: "A soak in a hot tub or whirlpool increases blood flow to the injured area, bringing nutrients to help repair the damage."

The Arthritis Foundation concluded that warm water Hydrotherapy in a properly designed spa can help those with arthritis.

According to the Arthritis Foundation "Hydrotherapy is one method of using water to help treat arthritis. The soothing warmth and buoyancy of the water makes it a safe, ideal environment for relieving arthritis pain. Using a spa adds another component to the therapy - massage." 2

Hot tub hydrotherapy can also help control diabetes, too. A Colorado study of diabetes patients who soaked in a spa 30 minutes a day, 6 days a week found the average blood sugar level of the group dropped 13%! It concluded that the use of a hot tub spas lowers blood pressure and blood sugar level.

Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy and more

The muscle relaxing and joint loosening benefits of hot tubs help those with depression, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Tendonitis, Scoliosis and Bursitis. Hot tubs have even been known to provide significant help for those afflicted with diseases as serious as Multiple Sclerosis and Cerebral Palsy.

Muscle relaxation: This occurs when the warm blood reaches deeper and deeper into the muscles, causing the vessels to expand. The muscle-relaxation effects of hot water also help deaden muscle pain by easing any pinching of nerves or blood vessels, and by helping the muscle rid itself of lactic acid and other metabolic wastes.

Temporary pain relief: As the body tries to register a temperature change, the central nervous system becomes depressed, contributing to muscle relaxation and temporarily relieving, or at least lessening, pain. This can happen with any drastic change in temperature—hot or cold—but most people are more comfortable sitting in warm water than holding an ice pack. (Remember, for recent injuries where there is swelling or broken skin, an ice pack is more suitable.)

Bodily cleansing: In trying to regain its normal temperature, the body will begin sweating so that moisture on the skin will evaporate and cool the body. But this process also helps rid the body of toxins.

Priming the muscles: By relaxing muscles, hot water helps increase their range of motion to allow for gentle exercise and stretching in the spa.

Promotion of healing: The jet action found in spas can promote healing by providing even more oxygen to the area than is provided by warm water alone. The heat and pressure from the jets can also raise the level of antibodies and white blood cells delivered to the area, promoting the destruction of bad cells and stimulating the formation of new tissue.

Help for insomnia: It has been found that sleep deepens as body temperature falls. As a result, some medical experts recommend that anyone wanting to induce sleep (especially those being kept up by pain) soak in water of approximately 103 degrees Fahrenheit about two hours before bedtime.

Customer Testimonial

Satisfied after research

We purchased a Nordic Retreat from All Brevard Hot Tubs, Inc. in June, 2013 after a 6-month research process. We chose All Brevard Hot Tubs, Inc. as our Spa Dealership for several reasons. They were patient with dealing with our numerous questions as first time spa buyers. We were given quick responses to our emailed questions. When we visited the shop, we were given attention and time.  While they made recommendations for accessories, they did not force them on us in “car salesman” type fashion.

Richard and Debbie (the owners of this business) had numerous handouts and/or made copies of product materials for us.

We researched Nordic and came to believe that this product was the best for us.
